Projects around the house

Many household objects can be easily made from plywood and other panel products for a variety of uses. The home handy person who wants to do it themselves can build dog kennels, kids cubby houses, letter boxes, toy boxes, work benches & desks.

For extra storage you can also build linen, pantry & storage cupboards & units, shelving & bookcases.  Renovate your home with T&G Plywood Flooring & Wall / Ceiling Interior linings. Also re-organise & refresh your garage & garden sheds, verandah – any room in the house even the front & backyard.

View the various product pages for a more extensive product listing & further product information.

What tools do I need to work with plywood …?

Plywood is manufactured with timber veneers & as a result has most properties that solid timber does. For the average DIY or home handy person, specialised equipment is not always required.

Plywood can be sawn, drilled, shaped, nailed, routered, screwed & glued.

Basic tools can be used such as a saw, hammer, drill, tape measure, pencil, set square & spirit level. Depending on the project other tools might be required & sometimes pre-drilling is suggested.

If you aren’t sure speak to an experienced person at Mister Ply&Wood to double check.

Can you use plywood outside…?

Mister Ply&WoodWhen you are installing plywood you need to install it clear of the ground or a surface that is going to get wet. The sheet of plywood will last longer if you seal & paint the edges.

It is the edges of the plywood sheet where the moisture penetrates therefore causing the plywood sheet to deteriorate over time.

Plywood that already has had preservative treatments against fungal attack & rot resistant (H3) is available at Mister Ply&Wood, such as T&G Plywood Flooring for an outdoor decking.
